My Experience on field work project on causes of Hypertension

During Three month Field work practicum we group of seven were placed in very remote place. The village was known as Thuloonggang. Which was located in the middle of jungle. Since we were given task to do one project and a produce report from the assigned village after being with the villagers for a month we came to know that villagers are suffering from hypertension and was face difficulties in lowering the level of blood pressure. So thinking that something could help them our group had carried out a research project on The Causes of High blood pressure among the villagers.  We found it was necessary to do research on the topic and also create awareness on it.  Resources we used for the first round were questioners, books, pen, pencils and went door to door dividing ourselves into different directions, asking some questions on their dietary like ( amount of salt, oil, alcohol and the illness). There wasn't any involvement of budget since it didn't require to do so we were al...

The Time is Right for Social Work.

Social Work Month in March is a time to celebrate the great profession of social work. This year the theme for Social Work Month 2022 is The Time is Right for Social Work.  Sometimes we need someone to be there, not fix anything or do anything, but feel supported and cared about. Why i decide to join this course?  - I always felt my God given purpose was helping others. I love that the social work profession stands apart from other helping professions by focusing on the person in environment to address the multifaceted issues impacting a person's quality of life.    Q. Coolest thing i've done as an S.W.?  - Just being a social worker is the coolest thing knowing that I am impacting a person's quality of life. My Kittenify

My kitten is soft as a pillow. Her name is zamin ( a girl in sharchop language), and she’s my favorite cat. She’s also so cuddly and cute. Most importantly, she’s one of my top favorite things i like about myself. However, there are a lot of things i would like to share about myself since I've been new to the blogging sites. I would like to share the top three things I like about myself the most. Which are my favorite pets, favorite things I like to do outdoors or indoors, and I love to help my friends, family and animals.  My pet Zamin is so soft and cuddly. She would sleep whole day near bukhuri. She is light black with a little brown on her fur. She has brown eyes and loves to be petted especially her chin and head. She was born to us by her mother who used to stay with us only. When I pick her up and there is a dog around, she starts kicking and scratching. That is telling me to put her back on ground. Also, she don't eat meat and fish, rather she eat fried maize snacks an...

Too many cars, too little space

My Reflections;                        MB Subba a journalist stated in Kuensel on September 28 th reported that the growing population and the expansion of Thimphu Thromde, coupled with increasing cost of transportation, have made expansion and up gradation of city’s public transportation urgent. The capital city’s public transport system has improved in terms of numbers of city buses. However, insufficient capacity to meet ridership demand during peak hours and inadequate routes shows that government’s efforts had failed to catch up with. The rising traffic congestion due to growing number of vehicles is expected to get worse without a drastic improvement in the public transport system too. According to the housing census and population 2017, the population of Thimphu reached 114,551 as of march 2017, and is estimated to increase by 4,200 people annually. And the national statistics bureau projected that at le...

MY EXPERIENCE IN FIELD WORK IN 2021

The Block Placement at Thulunggang village, under Dophuchen gewog was a new and different experience for me. I got number of chances to interact with five different village’s people who were living very far apart. The rural field practicum placement helped me to understand the professional way of approach through the interaction with rural villagers, which let us to learn and participate the all activities and festivals. We as a group of seven we discover so many new things from the village which we studied thoroughly and made a report of that. Thulunggang village is backward. Despite great progress in other parts of our country Bhutan, the pace of development is very slow in this village. Although the village is connected to the main road by non- metallic road. When I entered the village, I was welcomed by lush green fields. There were hills and hillocks scattered all around the village. Leeches of different kind attacks our leg in the rain. And I screamed every time I saw leeches on ...

Course; SSP306 - Law for Social Work Practice

Relationship of Human Rights and Law  As we all knew that human rights is a basic rights and freedoms that belong to every one of us in this world from the birth until we die. No matter where we are from regardless of nationality, sex, ethnic, color, religion, language and many things because we exist as human beings in this world and those universal rights are inherent to all of us.                                           While rule is made by a government that look after how people should and should not behave in society and if we happen to go against it then society orders particular punishments for not obeying. So there won't be a laws within societies if human rights are not protected well. Human rights cannot be protected ini8 societies without a strong laws. Laws are as important as Human rights. Social work course it self is a profession with purpose to bri...
